At Higher Grounds, we have compiled a collection of the plant-based knowledge and power that Maine has to offer. Both our cuisine and our activism are shaped by our passion for coffee, our profound respect for cannabis, and our enthusiasm for supporting Maine’s locally owned and independent artisan growers and artisans. We are a founding member of the Maine Craft Cannabis Association, which is a coalition of independent cannabis entrepreneurs, advocates, and aficionados that are working for cannabis policy that is fair, local, and focused on craft.

We work with all medical patients in Maine, as well as the majority of patients who are visiting for medical cannabis, and we have a Nurse Practitioner on staff to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your health and your treatment plans. An oasis of greenery may be found at our location on Wharf Street, which is located in the historic Old Port of Portland. When you visit our shop, you will find some of the best cannabis and coffee in Maine; in fact, you could even find that they are complimentary to one another sometimes!
